Handrail Connectors FAQs

What’s the difference between flush and expanding connectors?

Flush connectors sit inside the tube to create a near-invisible joint, while expanding connectors use an internal mechanism to grip the tube securely. Expanding types also allow for minor adjustment during installation.

Can connectors be used with both round and square handrail?

Yes. We stock connectors sized for standard round diameters (42.4 mm and 48.3 mm) as well as matching square connectors. Select the appropriate profile when ordering.

Do I need to drill holes or weld connectors?

These connector systems do not require welding. Depending on the system, connectors may be secured using adhesive or locking screws for permanent installations.

Are handrail connectors suitable for exterior use?

Outdoor suitability depends on the stainless steel grade selected. Grade 316 offers stronger corrosion resistance for exterior and coastal environments, while grade 304 is generally better suited to less exposed applications.
