FAQ
What is the role of the intermediate upright in the Eazy Roof system?
The intermediate upright provides continuous support along straight runs between corner and end uprights. Without it, guardrails could sag or become unstable over longer spans. By holding the rails firmly in place, the upright helps ensure compliance with edge protection regulations and keeps the system safe for long-term use.
Do I need to drill into the roof to install this upright?
Not necessarily. The Eazy Roof system offers both non-penetrative and fixed-base options. The non-penetrative version uses counterbalanced bases, meaning you don?t need to drill into the roof membrane, which reduces the risk of leaks. For situations where structural fixing is required, such as exposed or high-wind environments, fixed-base uprights can be installed securely into the roof structure
Can the upright be adjusted after installation?
Yes. The intermediate uprights are designed with adjustability to accommodate minor variations in roof surfaces. Installers can make adjustments during or after installation to ensure the handrails remain perfectly level and aligned, even where the roof has a fall or uneven areas. This makes the system more versatile and easier to install correctly.
Is it suitable for pitched or curved roofs?
The standard intermediate upright is intended for flat and low-pitch roofs up to a defined gradient. For pitched or curved roof applications, project-specific engineering assessments may be required to adapt the system. BM Steel can advise on alternative configurations or custom solutions if your project falls outside the standard specification.
What finish is supplied?
All Eazy Roof uprights are manufactured with a weather-resistant galvanised or powder-coated finish (depending on system choice). This ensures they withstand exposure to rain, UV, and airborne pollutants, providing long-term durability with minimal maintenance. The finish also ensures visual consistency across the guardrail system, making it suitable for commercial and industrial settings where appearance is important
